At AFARD, our work is driven by four interconnected pathways designed to build resilient livelihoods, promote healthy communities, strengthen inclusive leadership, and ensure lasting institutional impact.
Sustainable food and nutrition security, climate adaptation and natural resource management in targeted families of youth, women and refugees, including those with disabilities.
Youth, women, and refugees, including those with disabilities, have livelihoods (skills, enterprises, jobs, and incomes) resilient to political, economic and climate shocks.
The vast opportunities provided by the private sector for wealth creation has hardly been unlocked by youth, women and refugees, including those with disabilities.
Inclusive, peaceful and green families, groups, communities, and local governments that promote climate adaptation, natural resources management and equality for youth, women, and refugees, including those with disabilities.
Discriminatory social norms and practices and policies curtail the ability of vulnerable groups to live dignified lives.
An AFARD that is learning, impactful, and financially resilient.
In the last 25 years, AFARD has invested in ensuring that it has robust governance and management systems, growth-minded people, and networks that secure its sustainable impacts, growth and compliance with various legal regimes. Yet, as a young organisation operating in a dynamic environment (geopolitics, economics, technology, etc.), a lot needs to be done to secure its ability to learn, adapt, and impact with minimal donor and government dictates. AFARD will seek to tap into its Founding members’ experiences, localisation agenda, past collaborations and knowledge management to build a resilient organisation.
