INclusion and AFARD are implementing a 7-year Nebbi Inclusive Development Project (NIDP) in Welle village, Pamora Upper Parish, Atego Sub- County, Nebbi district. The
programme provides unconditional basic income grant called Level Income For Equity (LIFE) as a social protection intervention. The essence is that every individual is entitled to receive an income that is enough for basic needs for full participation in society and for a dignified life without any conditions.
The project is reaching out to 367 (194 female) beneficiaries. Each of these beneficiaries receive monthly basic income (LIFE) of 60,000 directly to their mobile phones.
To date, beneficiaries have improved their diet diversification, clothing, and ability to meet education needs of their children. About 15 semi-permanent houses are also under construction as many have acquired productive assets (land and livestock). Women and girls now own cattle; something that was a preserve of men. The community also collectively funded the drilling of a borehole to ease access to safe water.
Project Budget: UGX 1,962,800,000
