Alfred has 30 years of experience in development management, research, academics, and consultancy. Driven by a passion for community socio-economic transformation, he has risen through the ranks at AFARD, starting as a Project Officer (2000–2002), advancing to Director of Programs (2003–2006), and currently serving as the Executive Director (2007 to present). He holds a Ph.D. in Social Sciences from Radboud University Nijmegen, a Master of Ethics and Development Studies from Uganda Martyrs University, Nkozi, and a Bachelor of Arts from Makerere University. Alfred is particularly passionate about women’s, youth, and refugee livelihoods, local economic development, community microfinance (and financial freedom), social accountability, and climate change. He is also a strong advocate for NGO financial sustainability.
Florence Chandiru is an experienced financial manager known for her excellent analytical skills and results-driven attitude. With over 15 years of experience in senior financial management roles within a large, reputable organization, Florence has developed proven leadership abilities, particularly in managing and organizing complex financial operations. She has strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills and has a track record of managing large donor budgets of up to 13 billion annually. Florence is well-versed in donor funding policies and procedures and is adept at working as part of a team with minimal supervision.
Hudson Ogwali holds an MSc in Agroforestry, a BSc in Agriculture from Makerere University, and a National Diploma in Crop Production and Management from Arapai Agricultural College. He has over 12 years of experience in research, learning, adaptive programming, and management within the humanitarian, development, and peace sectors. Hudson’s expertise encompasses research, gender mainstreaming, inclusion, protection, environmental management, and accountability. He is skilled in human resource, financial, MEAL, partnership, and risk management, with experience working with diverse donors including USAID, Compassion International, and the World Bank. Currently, he serves as the Director of Programs at AFARD, providing leadership and strategic direction.
